This private tour combines the beautiful historic center of Quito, where the mix of Spanish and Indian culture are reflected in churches, convents and historic buildings, with a visit to the half of the World, the exact location of the equatorial line.
Middle of the World
Your guide will pick you up at 9 am and take you on this exciting excursion to the historic center of Quito and the Middle of the World. Private transportation will take you first to the basilica church, better known as one of the largest churches.
In the afternoon, you will receive a great interactive experience in the Middle Museum of the world. Through several experiments that will demonstrate the unique characteristics of being on the line of Ecuador. You can become an egg master by balancing a raw egg on a nail in half the world! At the end of the tour the guide will take you back to your hotel where you will arrive around 4pm.
Plaza de la Independencia
Then visit the heart of the old city and visit the Plaza de la Independencia. Your guide will happily share your knowledge about this important place and the surrounding buildings, such as the Presidential Palace.
Just one block away you will visit the most embellished church in Quito; The Church of the Company. With many beautiful wood carvings, gilded plaster and gold leaf decoration one of the most important works of Spanish Baroque in South America.
You will continue on foot to Plaza San Francisco, where you can visit the Church of San Francisco, home to more than 3,500 pieces of colonial art and the most notable sculptures of the 18th century.
The last stop in the old town will be on the hill of Panecillo, which offers a great view of the 45-meter statue of the Virgin of Quito.
You will be provided with private transportation between places. You will be taken from your hotel to the first visit, which is the church of the basilica. Then you can explore the old town on foot, with the exception of Panecillo hill. From there you can drive to the Middle of the World and back to your hotel. Up to 3 passengers will be accommodated in an SUV. Groups with more than 3 passengers will be accommodated in a H1 Hyundai bus or tour bus, depending on the number of passengers and availability. All vehicles are equipped with air conditioning. WIFI is not provided in any vehicle.
